Funny Friday Photos: Have You Been Indoctorinated?

It's true. We've made it through another week!

I've been toying with the idea of a Mindful Monday blog post for a while, and have decided to go ahead and give it a try. Because time is always an issue anymore, I'll only post twice a month, unless I have a guest post, like I will on February 2nd. I'm excited to get to share my blog with my friend, Roland Yeamons, who is releasing his book Return of the Last Shaman February 1st, and is going to share some connections between his book, his culture and mindfulness with us.

Thank you to Suzi, Veronica and Lexa for your continued support and comments on Fridays! You are all awesome!

Here's this week's photos!

Or you wake up after a nightmare...

I've always had this mental picture in my head when I hear people refer to women as "cougars."

I've succeeded in hooking my nephew and my kids. And probably my husband, too.

Earlier in the week I had an icky nightmare about aliens. I woke up freaked out, (if you remember, I have a phobia about the Communion-type aliens) but when I finally calmed down enough to fall back asleep, guess who came to help.

The tenth Doctor and Donna Noble.

It's humorous to me how comforted I was in the dream, because I knew the aliens weren't going to get me. The Doctor was going to save the day!

I think I have to accept I am, indeed, a Whovian.

Here's our puns!

My favorite this week is the sneezed on dog. The caption just fits.

Which is your favorite?
Just curious, have you ever had connected dreams before?

I'll see you on Monday!

Funny Friday Photos: And a PG-13 Pun

Happy Friday!

Yesterday was my first day back to school. I'm actually writing this post on Wednesday, so I hope it was a good day! Having some wibbly-wobbly, timey-whimey stuff going on writing this paragraph.

Speaking of which, the new Doctor lands tomorrow! I can't wait. I think Peter Capaldi is going to be excellent. And Vastra is back! She is so kick-a@$!

I didn't get to see Guardian's of the Galaxy, but Boy 2 told me the ending (he wanted to warn me because he thought I might cry. And he's probably right.) Anyway, knowing the two (GotG and the Doctor) makes this meme pretty funny!

We actually have a clear winner for last week's funniest photo, and it's...

Are you ready for the new photos?

I had to sing the song (Home on the Range), but then I cracked up. It looks like the picture is taken at the buffalo ranch outside of town. Yes, we have a buffalo ranch in Wyoming. They have camels, too.

More adorable than funny. :)

Corgi down!

I had this happen at Boy 2's kindergarten celebration. They didn't pray, but apparently she was teaching them to wait until everyone was served. I felt like such a boor! I swear I have manners!

The verb issues are annoying, but their faces are hilarious.

I just love stingrays!

Could this qualify for a pun? Or is it just funny?

Here are some for-sure puns.

Well, that's it! I hope we all have a great, relaxing weekend!

My favorite is the corgi who has fallen and can't get up.
Which is yours?

Photos from Cheezburger, as usual.

Funny Friday Photos

Thank God it's Friday. I've been sick all week, work has been pretty intense, and I'm ready for the weekend. Anyone else ready for a couple days off?

With the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special coming up on Saturday, I've been enjoying the Doctor Who take-over on BBC America. It's been hard to do anything else but watch the show. I really think Steven Moffat and Russell T. Davies are geniuses.

Last week's winner for funniest photos is:

Here are the new photos for this week!

And our pun of the week. I apologize in advance. I thought it was funny, though.

My favorite photo is either the heat vent cat or the barbecue dog. Those faces!

Do you like Doctor Who? Which photo is your favorite.

Something Bizarre Happened...Or not.

Apparently, when you're at home a lot, not much bizarre happens. At least, not the kind of thing a person can write a blog post about. I
The rock.
highly doubt anyone but me finds the fact that we found a polished and pretty rock my son lost three years ago when we planted one of our new cherry trees this summer particularly interesting. I may have to rethink the topic for this slot.

So, what to do today? I've promised myself that I wouldn't skip anymore blog posts, so how about a round-up of some other people's internet offerings I've enjoyed lately.

Writing:

* Redefining Success For Self-Publishing by Leslie Ramey on The Creative Penn was a welcome reframe of what constitutes success in self-publishing.

* The Madness of the Muses by Sarah Callender on Writer Unboxed was an enjoyable affirmation that I am not the only one who worries over the amount of time I submit to writing.

Science:

*It's OK To Not Understand These Pictures. Our Brains Weren't Built To Handle Them on Upworthy via Nicole L. Bates, Author reveals the grand size of the Universe. We are truly small.

* Mix of Housecat, Teddy Bear: New Mammal Discovered in Cloud Forest via Accuweather (But don't forget the monkey discovered in Columbia. It's got the prettiest eyes. Human or Monkey? on Keeping Babel at Bay.) Cute animals, but the monkey really does have a human-like face.

Scifi/Fantasy:

* Certain Doctor Who Phrases and how Olive Garden Customers React: An Experiment Done by a Server on The Stranger. Just cute!

Feel Good:

* Maroon 5 The Daylight Project (You Tube Video) Not sure why this is so powerful for me, but I suspect it has something to do with the song and the honest humanity of the people in the video.

On writing news, I have listed Finding Meara with Story Cartel, a site which brings readers and authors together. Readers join the site to receive free books, knowing they are "encouraged" to leave reviews on Amazon, among other sites. So if you know of anyone who might want to get a free copy of Finding Meara in exchange for a review, you can send them here.
