Funny Friday Photos: A Little Bit of Everything

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone's week went well! My week was filled with appreciation for living in Wyoming in June, and missing my sister. I think Father's Day was the beginning of a perfect storm of events that culminated in feeling a little sad this week.

But, while there's something beautiful about grief, it's no fun living in it (for the grievers or those around the grieved). As gratitude is an automatic feel-better, I also focused on how beautiful Wyoming is in June. The weather is cool, the rolling hills are green and my yard is filled with yellow, pink and purple wildflowers. I wish you could see it, but when I take pictures it doesn't look nearly as beautiful as in real life.

Instead, here's a picture of the rainbow that appeared on my way home last night. It came right before the sun set and was fiery red. It's the first full rainbow I've seen in a long time.

No filter - isn't the grass a beautiful green!

The other side. And the top of my car...Sorry.

All right, let's move on to funny photos! Last week's favorite was:

And the new ones.

Vegetarian cat.

You can't tell me you've never thought of this.

Half-off! Get it? Huh? Huh?

Another one that always comes to mind when I hear the word "carrion." Sorry it's a gross picture, though.

I'm spending the week visiting with my mother, nephew and my boys, so I'm not going to have a post next Friday. I think she deserves my full attention for a week (insert winking emoticon here.) I will have a post the week after (the Fourth of July!), though, so I hope to see you then!

I loved all the puns, but the brain-freeze dog keeps making me laugh so I guess he's my favorite this week.

Did you have a favorite this week?

Early Funny Friday Photos and a Pug with Dandelion Eyes

Happy Friday, a little early!

How was your week? My first week off for summer vacation has been quite mundane. I cleaned carpets, and wrote a little and figured out how some things go together in Book Two.

It sure would have been helpful to know this stuff a couple of months ago. I would have had a lot more confidence about where the story was going and felt better about writing it. Writing the second book is very much like my second pregnancy - not at all like the first and completely bewildering.

My Writer Unboxed friend, Vaughn Roycroft, often refers to Steven Pressfield's Writer Wednesday blog posts. Today (actually Thursday) I was looking for something to read while I ate lunch, and spontaneously headed over to Pressfield's site. The universe keeps reassuring me with interesting coincidences that I'm doing fine with my writing journey, and Mr. Pressfield's post, Principles of Improv, came to me with perfect timing. Over the last year I've ended up following his advice, without knowing why or if it was a good idea (hence, I've felt very out of control and confused on the state of Book Two.) His post was a gentle nudge to relax and trust creativity to do it's job, because obviously (based on the revelations I've had this week on how it all fits together) the book will be the better if I do. If you're a writer, or want to be a writer, I suggest reading the post!

There is no favorite photo for last week. Every person who commented had a different favorite! So, let's move on to this week's photos.

It's just so summery!

Except the statue's a lion...

It's face! Just how it feels to ask yourself existential questions.

That would be quite the surprise. Have I posted this before?

The way it ends up when I tell jokes.
Two puns!

The last straw.

My favorite is the NASA joke. What is your favorite this week?

Have a great weekend!

Funny Friday Photos and a Very Charismatic Puppy

Happy Friday!!

Oh my gosh! This week took forever! But Friday is here now, so I guess it's all good.

Although I was sick with the stomach flu last Thursday and Friday (stayed home and everything), I still ran - mostly - the Insane Inflatable 5K last weekend. I only walked when the world became hazy - you know, that white film that covers the world right before you pass out? I think not eating for two days before the run, and eating a rather small breakfast because I still felt queasy, might have affected my running capabilities. I made pretty good time, though, and ran more than most of the people there.  I do think I was the only person running by myself.

Proof I was there - before and after!
Do you like my glamorous sunglasses? I forgot my current pair at home, and found this several-years-old pair in my husband's glove box! It was better than squinting.

Last week's funniest photo is:

I honestly don't know how funny this week's photos are. I got a cold right after the stomach flu (Friday night) and when I was looking for photos this week I wasn't finding much funny at all. So, I chose the best I could. I hope you like them.

We all need to drink wine in the morning, I think. Apparently it makes the world much lovelier.

I would be the one in the background.

I knew they laughed at us. Now there's proof.

Innocent architecture.

That's a scary bear!

Subway rides in New York City were definitely an eye-opening experience for me.

He looks like he's about to cry. Poor kitty.

It's the frog from Looney Toons!

It's a very charismatic puppy.

Again, two puns for the price of one.

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I think my favorite is either the frog or the smiling puppy.

Was there a funny one for you?
