Funny Friday Photos

Hello, all! I hope Friday is treating you well. I had a four day work week, and I swear it lasted six days. It's Friday now, though!

A question! Should I be flattered that the spam bots have finally found my blog? Does it mean anything? Because, for the longest time, I blogged in obscurity. Now, I have hundreds of page views, and I owe it all to those robotic visitors. One positive, I can no longer be obsessive over my page views, because I have no way to know how many views are "real" versus the bots. So what do I do? I transfer my obsession over to my Wattpad page! Apparently, I must torture myself somehow.

I have decided, by the way, to just post once a week (Funny Friday Photos) during March. That way I can focus more on getting Finding Meara DONE! Have to do funny photos, though. It's so...well, fun!

Last week's winner is:

And now for this week's photos!

I'm having a tough time picking a favorite. I really like them all this week. I like the bird's face for the Bambi one. I still feel like that when I watch the movie. But, the Filthy Hobitses really makes me laugh, too. Okay, I'll pick Filthy Hobbitses (although they misspelled Hobbit). That's my favorite.

What's your favorite?

Funny Friday Photos

Well, I lost control with the funny photos this week. I kept finding cute ones, and just kept adding. All total, there are eight photos for your enjoyment.

I also posted early for Susie Lindau's Use Me and Abuse Me Day, where in you post a link to one of your blog posts in the comments. Then you get to go hop around and find other interesting posts and maybe new bloggy friends! You can still play, even if you're reading this on Friday, so go for a little visit and see what you think!

You may (or may not!) have noticed I didn't post on Tuesday. I am less than ninety pages away from finishing editing on Finding Meara, and I didn't want to take the time away from editing to write a blog post. The end is in sight!

I have been gratified at the amount of reads Finding Meara is getting over on Wattpad. When I put the first chapter up, I had nightmare thoughts it would sit there without anyone looking at it. As of tonight, there have been 366 reads, and it ranks #47 on the Adventure list and #118 on the Fantasy list. Of course, it drops each day that passes after the new chapter is released, but I'm still ecstatic that it is doing even this well. If you haven't taken a look, and want to, here is the link. A huge shout out of thanks to all of you who have read and voted and commented. Your company on this process is fantabulous. Thank you.

Have a wonderful Friday and I hope you enjoy the photos!

Freaky cat! I'd be a little worried, if I were the dog.

It's like a bear skin rug, only in miniature.

In honor of Valentines Day.

Like a Pokemon.

Whatever possessed them to put one on the dog?

He is so right.
I don't know which might be my favorite. When Dust Bunnies Evolve made me laugh out loud, so I guess I'll go with it!

Which did you like best?

Funny Friday Photos

Hello to all! Another week has zoomed by and it's time for some funny photos.

Before I get on with the pictures, I wanted to let you know what I've been up to. My days go something like this: go to work; come home; maybe exercise or write blog posts; read with the boys; cook dinner; put boys to bed; edit like a maniac to get Finding Meara ready to release in the first couple weeks of March; go to bed. Sometimes I'll throw in a couple of tweets so I can stay present on Twitter, too.

My point - I miss you! I see your posts in Google Reader and soooo want to be distracted because they look so interesting. I just can't. Once Finding Meara is published I can once again enjoy the pleasantries of social media. Pleases forgive me for being less than reciprocal in the meantime.

All right. We didn't really have a winner last week, so we'll just get to this week's photos!

Have a very happy weekend!

The Overcoming Adversity Blog Hop

Scattergun Scribblings
Last week I was speaking with a co-worker about some health issues I had when I was nineteen. I wasn’t complaining, but rather explaining about a surgery she had asked me about. Toward the end of the conversation she commented how, based off the stories we’ve shared, my life has been hard. I was shocked, and said so.
The only thing I ever feel bad about is my sister’s death, and even then I know that plenty of people have had worse tragedies. For me, though, it’s my greatest personal tragedy. I’m not looking forward to the next tragedy that trumps it. Because the thing about adversity is that it is a part of life. There is always something to overcome.
I can recount many people who have inspired me by their bravery and tenacious determination to overcome. My mother’s family was dysfunctional. Her father was abusive and her mother distant. She overcame her history to be a damn good mom and taught me more about love than possibly anyone else in the world.
My nephew has Asperger’s Syndrome, and has been misunderstood or bullied most of his short (13 yrs) life. He continues to extend himself, remaining friendly and hopeful, in spite of how people have treated him.
My sister, while in the downward spiral of chronic Multiple Sclerosis, didn’t become bitter at what the disease had taken from her.
But that’s just the beginning. Every day I work with kids who still play and see magic in a world where their parents rob them of their childhood. I see parents who overcome domestic violence, or work a full time job and attend school full time in the short-term, so they can provide a better life for their kids in the long run. I hear of people the world over who come through fire to emerge victorious over adversity.
We have a tendency to give adversity a hierarchy, based on what we are most afraid of. The hierarchy doesn’t negate what one person is dealing with, though. It doesn’t diminish the pain which any of us feel in the midst of adversity. It can, however, give us perspective. The comparison of adversities is what allows me to feel lucky because I haven’t lost a child--even if I did lose my sister. In the end, some may have more to overcome than others, but we all are heroes in our own lives.

Funny Photo Friday - LOTR Edition

February has arrived, and I have no idea where January went! Here's to a new month and (hopefully) relaxing weekend.

My children have become Lord of the Rings obsessed. They play LOTR Legos, watch the movies, play the Lego video game and we read a few pages at night before bed. So, in honor of my children, and since Just Capshunz was not producing the giggles I needed this week, I changed the theme for this Friday to Lord of the Rings.

But first, here is the winner for last week's funniest photo:

And now the Lord of the Rings photos!

My favorite is the panda above. Something about its expression hits the funny just right.

Do you have anything relaxing planned for the weekend?
Any favorites?
