Funny Friday Photos: Hugging Elephants

Happy Friday!

How has your last two weeks been? Is everyone writing? Or reading? Or both?

I've been writing and reading. My book is Love Lies Bleeding by Susan Wittig Albright and my writing is that damn chapter two of Through the Fairy Ring. I finally decided "F**k it" and started writing crap in my very cute, black and gold owl notebook right before I turn out the lights to go to bed. Like, literally, the worst writing of my life. But, I'm almost done with the chapter and now have something to work with, so I'm going to keep doing it. A plus, there are some nice, salvageable sentences and paragraphs. I may even write all of the Age of Stars this way.

It occurred to me, too, that Adam Lambert bears a resemblance to Drostan, my pixie character. Especially in his heavy eyeliner days. Funny.

Well, on to pics! Almost overwhelmingly, the favorite from two weeks ago was:

Thank you Suzi, Cindy, Sarah, Lexa, and Mike for your input. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos and hopefully this collection will tickle your funny bone, too!

Look at its little smile!

Is that the Gatekeeper or the Key Master from Ghost Busters? (1980's version.)

Pun!

And then, just because...

Okay, my favorite is the elephants. It hits me in the feels.

What's your favorite?

  1. Oh yeah, got to go with the elephants, although mr sassy pants is pretty great! My week was fine, thank you. :D Started off being the usual glumness and jet lag brain and hating everything-ness that usually happens after I switch countries, but a few blue sky days and a load of yoga, walks...dancing at the market Friday night, perked me right up. It's wonderful that you're writing at night like that. Maybe it's the reverse of the morning pages...but hey, if it works! Hope you have a fabulous weekend Lara.

    1. I'm glad you have been able to adjust to your transition. Your transition activities sound perfect, especially the dancing. :) I hope the last couple weeks have been better!

  2. As the grandfather of a music teacher, I have to go with the Rest.

  3. The cat on TV ones made me chuckle, but that one with the dog's head in the other's mouth makes me wonder what the heck they're doing. Why would cause him to do that? Weird.

That's cool that you can hand write stuff. I could never do that. Too impatient, plus my hand gets tired. I know a lot of people who do that though. I wonder if that'd be good for the perfectionist type writer. Cause you get it down on the paper and you know you don't have to fix it. You're not gonna rewrite by hand stuff over and over. But then when you move it to the computer, then you can edit as you go.

Or maybe those types would edit in the notebook too. What do you do? Would you erase a line and think about how to rewrite it if you didn't like it or would you just go on and keep writing. I think the temptation to redo it is so strong for those on computers, but I don't know if it's the same for hand written.

    1. This go round I've been writing and not trying to edit. It seems easier to do that in a notebook, because it isn't as easy to delete what I've written. I found being released from the need to watch my words really freeing. It made writing much more fun than it's been for a while. :)
