Funny Friday Photos - Warning: Happy Puns

Personally it's been an okay week, but over all, it's been one hell of a week for sadness, suffering, violence and abuses of power, hasn't it? Looking for funny photos has been kind of therapeutic, so if you're feeling a little down, I hope they help you, as well.

Next week I return to school! I'm excited about the school year because I'm looking forward to the work we're doing around mindfulness in education, and expanding on last year's start. I attended a workshop today on using neuroscience to augment therapies, and have a better idea of how to incorporate mindfulness on the individual level, as well as the group/class level.

Not much to report on the writing front. I've been attending to other parts of my life this week (ie. meetings to prepare for the school year, mothering and cleaning the house.) I'll get back to Book 2 tomorrow. Anyone want to help me name the darn thing?

Enough talking. Thanks for letting me chat, but let's get to the pictures!

There is nothing to say.

But the question is, why do you have to ask it?

What is that effect called? I can't remember.

Do you see the cat's face? Look for the face!

It was the lipstick that made me laugh.

Change the "gurrl" to "boy" and it's every fangirl in the world.

Okay, since the last one wasn't technically a picture (I had to include it! It cracked up the therapist in me!), I'll include one more picture.

Here's a couple puns!

Are your mirror neurons smiling? Mine are.

A nice wok in the park is always refreshing.

I was going to choose the cat in the vacuum, but then I found the smile on the house, and that's my favorite this time.

How was your week? Anything exciting happening for you?
Did you like any of the photos this week?

  1. Have fun in school!

The shaved cat is too funny. I say this with fond memories of Precious. :) She would have that look on her face had I shaved her fur off. lol

  2. Nothing exciting here. Just the norm. We have 10 days left till school starts, so a little extra time.

I like all the cat ones. Can't pick. All made me chuckle.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

    1. My children are jealous of you! For once, mine start back on the same day I do. They still only have half days, though. Luckily my father is still in town to pick them up!

I missed the face of the vacuum cat for a long time, and then when I finally saw it, I laughed so hard!

You have a nice weekend, too!

  3. Rough week for following the news. BUT my ms is off with two critique partners this week, and after I get their feedback I should begin querying. That's my big news. And I'm still trying to figure out if I can go to the RMFW conference. Not sure I have the funds, but still thinking about it.

And the cat in the vacuum cracked me up, even though that cannot be real. :)

    1. Lately the world seems to be going crazy.

I hope you can come to the conference. I booked my hotel last night, and learned I missed the group rate. I kept putting off booking, because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it on Friday night. Lesson learned!

    2. And congrats on being one step closer to querying!! That's excellent news. I can't wait until I can send Book 2 off to be beta read. It feels like it's going to be forever before I can.

  4. I loved the shaved cat...poor thing. Robert laughed at the face left behind. The mouth got us both...poor girl. :D So nice to read your Friday funnies. The news here in Oxfordshire is so sensationalised that we tend not to watch too much of it. We're way to sensitive!

    1. It was definitely the lipstick that made the photo funny. I've let you down about posting the link in WSStudio. I hardly remember to post the link to my Facebook page, so I rarely post on WSStudio's page. I'm glad you were able to find me and stop by!

  5. I always love the puns, but the cat on the swimming pool ladder was the best animal one. The cat in the vacuum cleaner was exactly where cats should be.

  6. So many adorable one's today. That first one really made me laugh, so I vote for shaved kitty. Have a great week, Lara!!

  7. Cats really do need their hair. Whether they're shaved or wet, cats just look weird without their hair.

I made a referral to someone to read Soul Cutter! I hope they took my suggestion. It's an awesome book, you know!
