Funny Friday Photos - Cats, Dogs and an Unimpressed Whale

Congratulations! You made it through another week! And so did I!

My sad news of the week is my husband hurt his knee and so I'll be running the Insane Inflatable 5K all alone. I feel bad, because the only reason he was running it was so I wouldn't be by myself. He hates running. Unfortunately, they don't offer refunds, and there isn't anyone to transfer his registration to, so he'll be getting an expensive t-shirt.

Last week's winner for funniest photo was:

I had a vote for the cat on Twitter, too, which put it above "the spring around the corner" pun. Here are the new photos:

Just this week a couple was making out in the driveway of the school as I left. Not only was it inconsiderate for them to be all over each other in the middle of the road, but their decision to do so at an elementary school was totally inappropriate. I wanted to run them over...

That is the most bizarre cat I've ever seen.

Why is that?

The whale is unimpressed.

That seems like a pretty cruel joke for a bird of prey.

I did have to look a couple of times to try to figure it out.

Wet cats are funny. Angry wet cats are funnier.

A feel-good pun:

This weekend I am taking Boys 1 and 2 to stay with my mother for several weeks. They're already out of school and I still have two weeks. People keep telling me I'll enjoy myself, but I'm not so sure. I like having them around and get anxious when I'm not near them. I guess I'll need to meditate a lot. And write a lot to distract myself.

My favorite this week is the dog with the bone.
Did you have a favorite?
Are you doing anything fun this weekend?

  1. The dog with the bone is so wrong it's funny.
I know what you mean about the kids being gone. A day or two is fine. Anything more than that is weird.
I hope your husband heals quickly!

  2. I love the pet cemetery cat one. That's funny.

I've found this with my kids, and missing them. If I'm away somewhere and they are home, I don't miss them. But if I'm home and they are gone somewhere else for more than a day, then yeah. It just feels wrong being so quiet. Then I start thinking about what we'd be doing if they were home and I'd miss them more.

  3. Good luck in the race! So sorry your husband hurt his knee and can't go with you. Bummer. And I missed last week's photos. That cat at the top is hilarious. Still laughing. :)

  5. Meh. 'Cause he reminds me of the whale in The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy.

  6. The cat for this you die one cracked me up. And you matter -ahaha! Love it! They should post that public display of affection sign every where though. Seriously, some people are gross and that poster totally covers it. And yikes! At an elementary school? Those poor kiddos!

  7. Dog with bone was scary - in a bad way. Pet Sematary cat was scary - in a good way.

    Pet cemetery cat!
